The Colmar International Festival began in 1979 under the artistic direction of German conductor Karl Munchinger. The event truly took off in 1989 with the leadership of renowned violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov, inviting the greatest soloists and finest orchestras to Alsace to perform in the city’s iconic heritage sites, including the Koïfhus, Saint-Matthieu Church, and the Colmar Municipal Theatre: settings that add a historical and cultural dimension to the musical experience.

Every year, around thirty concerts are held during the first half of July in a welcoming and festive atmosphere open to all audiences. The performances combine the artistic rigor of new artistic director Alain Altinoglu with a modern breath of fresh air, enlivening Colmar with its diverse line-up ranging from major symphonic works to more intimate recitals, as well as showcasing up-and-coming talent.
This major cultural event in Colmar delights both avid and occasional music lovers, as well as a wide range of business professionals via sponsorships from companies offering employees or partners a charming musical interlude in prestigious and historic settings.

These business experiences often continue with a festive cocktail reception or a gala evening in one of the city’s many event venues, such as the foyer of the Colmar Municipal Theatre or the exceptional and iconic Koïfhus.

Music is well-known for soothing the soul, and each summer it brings an inspiring note to create memorable corporate events.
